"Feeding Children Better” program By Agro Tech"

“Feeding Children Better” program is being implemented with the support of Agro Tech Foods Limited since 5th September 2003. 110 children with disabilities are provided nutritious mid-day meals through this program. Agro Tech Foods Limited company and most of its staff are actively involved in this program. Agro Tech is also organizing medical camps, educational tours etc., for the benefit of disabled children of Shekinah Foundation.

Ministry among Prisoners

Apart from the regular activities, Shekinah Foundation is also conducting medical and health programmes for old and poor people. Counseling and moral teachings are being organized for the inmates of the various prisons. Literacy programmes are also being implemented effectively in the rural areas of Ranga Reddy district.

Shekinah Foundation is also involved in various government programmes like Cheyutha in JANMA BHOOMI, a unique programme being implemented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Shekinah Stall at Access-2003

Shekinah Foundation's stall at ACCESS - 2003 (National Exhibition on assitive devices, barrier free features, teaching and learning materials), has achieved "Second Best" position. Access 2003 was organized by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India in association with the Disabled Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh during 22-26th July 2003 at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally, Hyderabad. The National Exhibition was inaugurated by Shri. Satyanarayana Jatiya, Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India in the presence of Mrs. Rajwat Sandhu, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Government of India, Shri . B. Dattareya, Union Minister of State for Railways, Government of India, Mrs. M. Mani Kumari, Minister for Tribal and Disabled Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Shri. Vijay Rama Rao, Minister for Commercial Taxes, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Shri. J.R. Puspha Raju, Minister for Social Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Shri R. Sundar Vadan, Commissioner, Disabled Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh and large number of disabled persons and the representatives of NGOs.

At the Access - 2003, Shekinah Foundation has set up a Photo as well as Poster Exhibition stalls, creating awareness on LOCOMOTOR DISABILITY, its causes, prevention, identification and early intervention. Union Ministers, State Ministers, Officials including Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Shri. Mohan Kanda, Common visitors and particularly the persons with disabilities have been all praise for the efforts of the Shekinah Foundation.

Shri. Satyanarayana Jatiya, Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, has also released the brochure of Shekinah Foundation, brought out in connection with the ACCESS - 2003 at the inaugural function. The "Second Best" award has been presented to Shekinah Foundation by Shri. Y. Ramakrishnudu, Minister for Finance, Government of Andhra Pradesh at the Valedictory function in the presence of Mr. B. Gopala Krishna, Minister for Employment Generation. Shekinah Foundation has also won "Appreciation Certificate" for playing a very active role in organizing the National Exhibition as the Organizing Committee member.
